SeaPoly is a collaboration between award winning internationally renowned Scientists, Engineers and Legal Experts who came together in 2023 with a collective vision to change how industry views recyclable polymers that can replace both single use plastics and multi use plastics.
The Scientific and Engineering team developed a unique technology to convert seaweed into bioplastic pellets. These pellets work with existing plastic manufacturing machinery, enabling a seamless switch from fossil fuel-based materials to fully green, compostable, and marine-degradable alternatives. This innovation offers significant real-time cost and carbon emission reductions.
Conventional sanitary pads are made of primarily plastic and chlorine-bleached wood pulp, which causes some skin irritation in some people & is harmful for the environment upon disposal.
Plastic pads take 600-800 years to degrade, and worse, are frequently burned for disposal, generating CO2 & toxic carcinogenic fumes.
It is estimated that the average woman generates 120-150 kg of pad waste in her lifetime.
Looking to the future as sanitary pad usage is increased globally, access to affordable, biodegradable, non-toxic pads is essential.
SeaPoly is transforming the plastics with a product that is better for the planet and also doesn't require changes to existing machinery. SeaPoly is 100% bio-derived with broad market applications and is low cost (competitive with bioplastics).
SeaPoly is fully biocompostable and biodegradable completely friendly flora and fauna alike. We source and manufacture locally, to scale globally.
SeaPoly can be injection moulded, 3D printed and extrusion blow moulded with standard machinery. It is designed for industrial scale use.
SeaPoly is perfectly aligned help achieve the goal set by the United Nations Environment Assembly’s agreement in March 2022 to develop a legally binding treaty to bring plastic pollution to an end.
